Andek Council area (Ngie) is averagely served by seasonal earth roads which are reachable to 18 of the 19 villages. The total road network passable to humans, motorcycles and 4WD vehicles in the dry season is 75 Km. In the rainy season, all the roads are usually very slippery and hardly passable to vehicles. There is as yet no motor-able road linking the village of Tinechong to the rest of the villages of Andek municipality.
Road maintenance for 20 of the 75 Km in the Andek Municipality is annually done by the Central government through a contractor. The rest of the 55 km is usually abandoned to the Andek Council with hardly any means to carry out the maintenance.

Even so, 8 of the 20 Km ( the section of the steep hill from Etowet in Etwii to Andek town and the hill descending into Teze village usually become impassable during the rainy season. In order to let the population to easily travel, Andek Council uses available scarce resources including hand labour by the population to maintain the road.
Where a good road passes, real development follows. The frequently very bad road network in the Andek Council is an important reason for the slow development of the Andek Council area.
